A key highlight of the initiative is the introduction of “Travel Now, Pay Later” offerings, including no-cost EMI travel packages developed in association with leading banking partners. These plans will allow travellers to book Malaysia holidays with flexible repayment tenures ranging from three to nine months, significantly lowering upfront financial barriers.

Additionally, the collaboration will feature exclusive airline deals through partnerships with major carriers, further enhancing affordability and value for Indian tourists.

Commenting on the development, Hari Ganapathy, Co-founder and CEO of Pickyourtrail, said the partnership aligns with changing traveller expectations. He noted that Indian travellers today seek greater control over how they plan and pay for their trips, and such collaborations enable access to diverse destinations like Malaysia without compromising on experience.

A spokesperson from Tourism Malaysia highlighted that India remains a key source market and emphasised the organisation’s commitment to deepening engagement through curated offerings and flexible travel solutions.

With outbound travel from India witnessing steady growth, the partnership is expected to tap into rising demand for personalised and financially flexible international holidays. It also lays the groundwork for long-term collaboration between the two entities to sustain travel demand and strengthen Malaysia’s positioning among Indian travellers.

According to internal data from Pickyourtrail, bookings to Malaysia from India have recorded over 100 per cent year-on-year growth, driven by factors such as proximity, ease of travel, and the country’s diverse offerings spanning beaches, culture, nature, and urban experiences. The MoU is expected to further accelerate this momentum by making travel more accessible and tailored to individual preferences.
