BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals Launches Vannam Clinic for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Care in Chennai

Chennai: After four consecutive miscarriages, a 35-year-old woman in Chennai recently delivered a healthy baby following structured evaluation and closely monitored care, highlighting the importance of detailed medical investigation for recurrent pregnancy loss. Doctors say many women continue to face repeated miscarriages without proper diagnosis, even though the condition affects nearly 2–3% of pregnancies, particularly among women in their 20s and 30s.

BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals Launches Vannam Clinic for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Care in Chennai

To address this concern, BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals has launched Vannam Clinic in Guindy—Chennai’s first gynecology-led Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) and Pregnancy Failure Clinic. The clinic offers comprehensive evaluation for women experiencing two or more consecutive miscarriages, which may be caused by genetic factors, uterine structural issues, cervical weakness, clotting disorders, hormonal imbalances, or metabolic conditions.

The clinic brings together specialists in obstetrics, genetics, fetal medicine, neonatology and pediatric metabolic care under one roof, enabling accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment planning. Through this multidisciplinary approach, the hospital aims to improve pregnancy success rates for women who have experienced repeated pregnancy losses.

Dr. Mathangi Rajagopalan, Senior Obstetric Consultant at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, said recurrent pregnancy loss requires careful clinical evaluation and structured assessment to identify underlying causes. She noted that many cases can be managed effectively with targeted diagnosis and personalized care without the need for fertility interventions.

Dr. Priyadharshini S M, Senior Consultant – Obstetrics and Gynecology, added that proactive evaluation is essential as pregnancy patterns evolve. She said the clinic strengthens BirthRight’s comprehensive maternal care model by ensuring thorough assessment before considering fertility treatments.

The clinic was inaugurated by actress Saranya Ponvannan in the presence of doctors from BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals and hospital leadership.

Addressing the gathering, Saranya Ponvannan said repeated pregnancy loss can be emotionally devastating for families and that initiatives like Vannam Clinic offer both medical support and hope to women navigating this difficult journey.
