Big Bang Boom Solutions Launches ‘SHAKTI’ R&D Hub in Chennai to Power India’s Deep-Tech Innovation
Chennai, March 21, 2026: Chennai’s position as a fast-emerging deep-tech innovation hub received a significant boost today with Big Bang Boom Solutions Private Limited (BBBS) inaugurating its advanced research and development facility, SHAKTI – Solutions Hub for Advanced Knowledge, Technology & Innovation.

Located in Pallikaranai, the state-of-the-art 20,000 sq. ft. facility, with the capacity to house over 200 engineers, marks a major milestone in BBBS’s expansion journey. The new hub reinforces the company’s commitment to strengthening India’s indigenous technological capabilities across critical and strategic sectors.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Shri Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary of the Technology Development Board (TDB), who underscored the importance of industry-driven innovation in achieving technological self-reliance. He noted that initiatives like SHAKTI are crucial in bridging the gap between research and real-world deployment, especially in strategic domains.
Congratulating the company, he said the facility reflects the growing strength of India’s deep-tech ecosystem and reaffirmed TDB’s continued support for startups contributing to national priorities.
The event was also graced by renowned space scientist Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, popularly known as the “Moon Man of India” and currently Principal Advisor for Space Initiatives at BBBS. Highlighting the importance of such infrastructure, he stated that facilities like SHAKTI will play a vital role in advancing India’s defence and space technology ecosystem by fostering innovation and enabling the development of critical technologies in an evolving global landscape.
Senior representatives from key Tamil Nadu government bodies, including StartupTN and the Industries Department, were also present, signaling strong state support for innovation-led enterprises and deep-tech growth.
The SHAKTI R&D hub is envisioned as a nucleus for cutting-edge research across multiple domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems, Electronic Warfare, Material Science, Nanotechnology, Quantum, Nuclear, and Space Technologies. It aims to accelerate the development of next-generation, mission-critical solutions aligned with India’s strategic and defence priorities.
Company leadership highlighted BBBS’s rapid growth as one of India’s leading defence technology startups, with multiple iDEX wins and successful collaborations with the Indian Armed Forces. The launch of SHAKTI is expected to significantly enhance the company’s capabilities in delivering scalable, high-impact technologies for national applications.
