AICC 2.0 focused on advanced strategies to manage complications during coronary and structural heart interventions, including coronary perforation, acute vessel closure, haemodynamic collapse and vascular access challenges. Designed as a highly practical, case-based platform, the course enabled participants to gain real-world insights into complex cath lab scenarios. A major highlight was the live transmission of six complex CTO percutaneous coronary interventions performed on patients from Australia, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Turkey, the UK and Italy.

The international faculty featured Dr William Lombardi (USA) and Dr Masahisa Yamane (Japan) as Course Directors, alongside several eminent national and global experts, who shared their expertise in managing high-risk complications and building safer interventional systems.

Addressing the gathering, Dr P. Senthil Kumar, IAS, underscored the importance of continuous medical education and structured training in improving patient safety and clinical confidence during complex cardiac procedures.

Dr Arun Kalyanasundaram noted that AICC 2.0 provided an in-depth academic forum for cardiologists to anticipate challenges and enhance outcomes through shared clinical experience and cutting-edge procedural knowledge. Dr Spoorthi Arun added that the course effectively bridges theory and real-life practice through case discussions, simulations and practical demonstrations.

Widely appreciated for its academic depth, global faculty and hands-on learning approach, AICC 2.0 further strengthened Chennai’s position as a key centre for advanced cardiovascular education in Asia.
