Indian Coast Guard Veterans Welfare Association Marks 8th Raising Day | Launches New Flag & Website 2.0
Chennai, November 15, 2025: The Indian Coast Guard Veterans Welfare Association (ICGVWA) proudly celebrated its 8th Raising Day today, a milestone that also witnessed the unveiling of the Association’s new Flag and the launch of the upgraded ICGVWA Website 2.0, designed to further advance the welfare of Indian Coast Guard veterans.
The celebration was attended by key office bearers including President N. Bharathan, Secretary P. K. Babu; Treasurer R. Rajagopal, Chief Legal Advisor Advocate M K Govindan; Tamil Nadu State Head Vasukinathan, along with senior members and volunteers of the Association. Across all regions, the Raising Day is being observed with a variety of activities such as veterans’ welfare meets, collective submission of Life Certificates, entertainment programmes for ladies, and family get-togethers. Looking ahead, the Association plans to introduce new annual activities including blood donation camps, walkathons, youth runs and outreach events for underprivileged children.

Formally registered on 14 November 2018 in Chennai, ICGVWA stands as the first and only organisation dedicated exclusively to the welfare of Indian Coast Guard veterans. Over the past seven years, the Association—led by President Shri N. Bharathan, Secretary Shri P. K. Babu, National Coordinator Shri K. C. Rajput, Treasurer Shri R. Rajagopal, and Tamil Nadu State Head Shri Vasukinathan—has worked tirelessly under the motto “SERVICE AFTER SERVICE.”
Key Activities of ICGVWA:
- Assisting veterans and family pensioners (CG Veer Naari) in securing rightful benefits, including CSD canteen and ECHS facilities.
- Supporting members during emergencies, medical needs, legal issues, travel requirements and educational assistance.
- Facilitating employment opportunities through corporate referrals.
- Helping veterans and families adopt modern digital tools and technologies.
- Strengthening camaraderie through regional and state-level gatherings.
- Honouring departed veterans by attending funerals and ensuring dignified last rites.
