As part of its commitment to neurological care, the hospital also inaugurated a state-of-the-art Neuro-Cath Lab, featuring advanced interventional angiography systems for accurate diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of brain and spine vascular conditions. The event included expert talks by senior neurologists highlighting the importance of early stroke detection, timely intervention, and prevention.

Distinguished guests at the event included Mr. Janakirman Vijayakumar Sembian (Director, Anabond Limited), Actor Senthil, Mr. Vinay (Deputy Commissioner of Customs, SEZ, Visakhapatnam), and Mr. Avudaiappan S, Zee Tamil anchor.

Dr. Karthikeyan S, Senior Consultant, Interventional Neurology, noted that stroke is the second leading cause of death globally and affects nearly 15,000 people annually in Chennai. Alarmingly, strokes are increasingly impacting adults under 45, largely due to lifestyle factors like sedentary behavior and unmanaged hypertension. He stressed the importance of the “golden hour” after symptom onset, during which rapid response can significantly improve outcomes.

Dr. Sai Prashanth PR, Consultant Interventional Neurology, reaffirmed MGM Malar’s dedication to comprehensive, technology-driven care, while Dr. Aravinth Kumar A, Consultant in Neurosurgery and Endovascular Neurointerventions, emphasized both awareness and prevention as key to reducing the stroke burden in India.

The newly launched Cath Lab features advanced imaging, real-time dose monitoring, and radiation-minimizing technology, enabling safer, high-precision neuro and cardiac interventions — all under one roof.
