Chennai, February 28, 2025 – Mar Gregorios College of Arts & Science successfully hosted its much-anticipated intercollegiate cultural fest, Cloud Crust 2K25, at the Open Air Auditorium. The event was a spectacular celebration of cultural diversity and artistic expression, attracting participation from 35 colleges across the region.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with a Prayer Song, Tamilthai Vazhthu, and the College Anthem, followed by the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku by esteemed dignitaries. The Chief Guest, Ms. Benita Maria Yazhini, one of the pride of Vijay TV’s Airtel super singer, graced the occasion along with Secretary Rev. Fr. Mathew Pallikunnel, Principal Dr. R. Srikanth, Vice Principals Dr. G. Gayathry (Shift - II) and Dr. S. Shalini Maher (Shift - II), IQAC Coordinator Ms. S. Shantha, and Cultural Convenors Prof. T.N. Rekha (Shift - I) and Prof. C. Dhana Lakshmi (Shift - II).

A captivating Welcome Dance by Ms. Abarna set the tone for the day's festivities, followed by inspiring speeches from the dignitaries. The Chief Guest further elevated the event’s spirit with a soulful musical performance, encouraging students to embrace and celebrate cultural diversity. The event featured an array of on-stage and off-stage competitions, providing students with a platform to showcase their talents. 
The stage performances included Light Music, Adaptune, Group Dance, and the highly anticipated Fashion Walk. Simultaneously, off-stage competitions such as ADZAP, Solo Singing, Block N Tackle, and Shipwreck took place at KCGSJ Hall and Mar Ivanios Hall, engaging participants in creative and intellectual challenges.

A notable highlight was a special performance by the NSS unit, adding to the vibrant and energetic atmosphere of the fest. The Group Dance competition captivated the audience with outstanding performances from various teams, making it one of the most thrilling segments of the event.

The grand Prize Distribution Ceremony, held at 2:35 PM, honored the winners for their remarkable performances. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Stephen Beulan A, followed by the National Anthem at 3:00 PM. A total of 300 students from 27 colleges actively participated in both on-stage and off-stage events, competing for top honors. The Rolling Trophy was awarded to Loyola College, which secured the maximum number of victories across various categories.

Cloud Crust 2K25 successfully fostered camaraderie, artistic excellence, and teamwork among students, setting a benchmark for future cultural celebrations. The event’s success was attributed to the meticulous planning and unwavering commitment of the Cultural Convenors, Prof. T.N. Rekha (Shift - I) and Prof. C. Dhana Lakshmi (Shift - II), along with faculty members and student coordinators. Their dedication ensured the smooth execution of the fest, making it a resounding success.

With an overwhelming response from participants and attendees, expectations are already high for the next edition of Cloud Crust, promising an even more grand and exhilarating cultural experience.
