Silver Jubilee Celebrations at SRM Valliammai Engineering College

Chennai, September 10, 2024: The Silver Jubilee Celebration of SRM Valliammai Engineering College was celebrated with great enthusiasm and exuberance on 10th September 2024 at the T.P.Ganesan Auditorium, which marked a historic moment in the history of SRM Valliammai Engineering College. SRM Valliammai Engineering College takes pride in commemorating a milestone, its Silver Jubilee. 

This year marks a significant milestone in the history of SRM Valliammai Engineering College. 25 years of unwavering commitment to excellence in technical education is indeed a remarkable achievement.  Over the past two and a half decades, SRMVEC has grown from its modest beginnings into a premier institution, one that has not only imparted knowledge but also shaped the careers, aspirations, and futures of thousands of students.

SRM Valliammai Engineering College (An Autonomous Institution), established on September 9, 1999, currently offers 11 undergraduate and 9 postgraduate programmes. The college boasts of a team of highly qualified, dynamic, and dedicated faculty members with expertise from both academic and industrial backgrounds. Students consistently bring honour to the institution by securing top ranks in university examinations. The event began with the Thamizh Thai Vaazhthu and the ceremonial lighting of the Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries present on stage. Following this, the Principal, Dr. M.Murugan extended a warm welcome to everyone on this special occasion.

Dr.T.R.Paarivendhar, Founder and Chancellor, SRMIST graced the occasion with his esteemed presence. The programme was presided over by Dr.Ravi Pachamuthu, Chairman, SRMGroup and Pro-Chancellor (Admin), SRM IST. Ms.R.Harini, Correspondent, SRM Valliammai Engineering College addressed the audience. Dr.B.Chidhambararajan, Director, SRMVEC and Dr. S.Ramachandran, Director, Academics,SRM Group offered their felicitations.

The Silver Jubilee souvenir was released which captured the inspiring journey, achievements and the indomitable spirit of alumnae, faculty and students of SRM Valliammai Engineering College. An audio-visual presentation was shown to the audience, highlighting all the significant milestones of the institution. The 25 years of academic excellence of the institution and its endeavour to give back to the community that supported its journey, was manifested in the announcement of the awards for the Jubilarians and the staff members who have completed 10-15 years of service in the college. Several distinguished alumnae were recognized and honoured on stage. 

The Founder and Chancellor, SRMIST in his Silver Jubilee address, congratulated the institution for its accomplishment. He then urged the students to dream big because of the global change in technology. He added that the seeds of creating a special change are within the youth. So students ought to develop their competency skills. He finally reiterated on the fact that in this competitive world, students should think constructively and create great things technologically.

A wide variety of cultural programmes were organized by the students who showcased their talents and creativity on stage.The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Vice-Principal Dr.S.Visalakshi, who conveyed her sincere appreciation to all those who contributed to the event.

Twenty five years of useful, selfless and dedicated service to the cause of higher education made the Jubilarians proud and optimistic to a forthcoming era of greater dedicated and dynamic service. Given the good faith of the public and sincere efforts of members of the teaching fraternity, the non-teaching and students, the college will forever grow in dimensions beyond expectation. With its rich history of excellence and a promising future ahead, the college is poised to make a lasting impact on the world of technology for years to come.
