Lions Club District 324A1 Distributes 50 Lakhs Covid Relief Aid | Inauguration by TN Health Minister

Chennai, June 14, 2021: Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma.Subramanian today inaugurated 50 Lakhs Covid Relief of Lions Club District 324A1 2020-2021.

District Governor Lion P.V.Prakash Kumar presided over the function. He said that out of the total relief aid, 5 Lakhs was donated to Chief Minister's Relief Fund. 30 nos Fabricated toilets worth around 18 lakhs were installed at Raja Rathinam Stadium for around  3000 police personnel during their training.

As per the request of Health Minister, around 10 Fabricated toilets each would be installed at Govt Rajiv Gandhi Hospital and Govt Omandurar Hospital.

Also 4 nos Oxygen Machines were handed to Govt Stanley Hospital, Govt Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Pandiraj Hospital and Kings Institute.

Minister Ma.Subramanian appreciated the efforts of Lions Clubs for their help during the pandemic.

Egmore MLA I. Paranthaman, Health Secretary J.Radhakrishnan IAS, Chennai Corporation Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal IPS and other dignatories from Lions Club and Govt Departments graced the function.

Chennai, February 09, 2026: Building on the global momentum around World Cancer Day, Apollo Cancer Centre, Chennai and Apollo Proton Cancer Centre have launched the ‘ZERO TO HERO’ campaign to raise awareness about Stage Zero cancer detection and its critical role in improving survival and recovery outcomes. Cancer incidence in India continues to rise sharply, with over 15 lakh new cases reported in 2024, as per ICMR–NCRP data presented in Parliament. With one in nine Indians now facing a lifetime risk of cancer, the disease has emerged as a major public health challenge.
