National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) : Annual Press Conference

Shri S Selvaraj, Chief General Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Tamil Nadu Regional Office, Chennai informed at the annual Press conference held in Chennai today (08 March 2021) that during the year 2020-21, loans disbursed by Tamil Nadu Regional Office of NABARD reached an all-time high of ₹27,040 crore, up from ₹14,458 crore the previous year – a growth of 87%.  


He attributed three reasons for this great achievement which are the cooperation and support received from the Government of Tamil Nadu, State owned undertakings, Banks, NBFCs and others, dedication of the staff members of NABARD and the Transparency with which NABARD functions.

His condition rapidly worsened, leading to a dramatic drop in heart function, unresponsive blood pressure, kidney failure requiring dialysis, and liver congestion. A heart transplant became the only viable option. With his father working as a driver and unable to afford the high cost, financial support was arranged through MMM’s Social Works Department and a major Trust. Just as doctors considered temporary cardiac support, a donor heart from a young adult became available through TRANSTAN, far sooner than expected. The three-day conclave (October 10–12) gathers over 1250 delegates from across India and 40+ international faculty members to explore innovations in GI oncology, artificial intelligence, and minimally invasive surgery.
