GADGET FREE DAY CAMPAIGN WITH 100 TWINS HELD AT VELAMMAL SCHOOL

Chennai, November 16, 2019: Velammal Main School, Mogappair Campus observed Gadget Free Day to celebrate the bond between the parents and children. The idea of the campaign was to create an awareness on reducing the usage of gadgets.

The guests of honour  Mr. Arun and Mr. Aravind, casting directors graced the occasion and unveiled the campaign. The guests emphasized the students not to get addicted towards electronic devices instead spend quality time with family and friends. The guests felicitated the winners of the Ovation – Kids Mela and Ramp Walk – Twins.

Parents and students shared their testimony on the campaign and the students took a pledge on this momentous occasion. The day was glorified with wide variety of performances by the twins. This event was witnessed by the galaxy of students.

Chennai, March 24, 2026: In a landmark advancement for cardiac care in India, Madras Medical Mission (MMM) has successfully performed the country’s first implantation of the Evaheart Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), while also achieving a global first with the implantation of the latest-generation Evaheart 3 model. The breakthrough procedure offers renewed hope for patients suffering from end-stage heart failure with limited treatment options. The procedure was carried out on a 42-year-old man who presented with severe chest pain and breathlessness and was diagnosed with a massive heart attack that caused extensive damage to the heart muscle. Chennai, March 31, 2026: Tamil Nadu IT Hostel Owners Welfare Association raised a serious concerns on whether cooking gas is being hoarded or sold in the black market during a press meet led by its State President A. Seetharaman along with other office bearers.  During the press meet, Seetharaman outlined what actions the Central and State Governments should take. He also said that more than 20,000 men’s, women’s, and student hostels operating across Tamil Nadu are facing severe difficulties due to an acute shortage of cooking gas.
