Anna University Zone 4 Inter Collegiate Ball Badminton Men Tournament 2019   SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Kattankulathur has organized Anna University Zone 4 Inter Collegiate Ball Badminton Men Tournament 2019 on 16th September2019at Valliammai Sports Complex.  In the inaugural function, Dr.N.Ganapathy, Director of Physical Education, welcomed the gathering, Dr.M.Murugan, Vice Principal inaugurated the tournament. Totally100students participated from Anna University Zone 4. The match was conducted by knockout system. In first semifinals, SRM Valliammai Engineering College beat Sri Sairam Engineering College by 35-21, 35-25 in second semifinals Madras Institute of Technology beat Sri Sairam Institute of Technology by 35-23, 35-19, in the Final match SRM Valliammai Engineering College beat Madras Institute of Technology by 35-21, 35-30 won the first and second positions respectively, for third position match Sairam Engineering College beat Sri Sairam Institute of Technology by 35-25, 35-27 and got third and fourth position respectively, Dr.M.Murugan, Vice Principal, Organizing secretary Dr.N.Ganapathy congratulated the winners.

SRM STUDENTS PICKED UP LIKE HOT CAKES FOR PLACEMENT Kattankulathur, September 16: At the conclusion of the 'Day One' process, the four major IT companies have made a record 4,749 offers to students from the graduation class of 2020 at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology breaching last year’s 3020 offers for 2019 pass outs. TCS (Ninja)  has made 1437 offers, Infosys 1315, CTS 1175 and Wipro 822.  Apart from this, TCS has made 183 offers under ‘Digital Track’ (7 lakhs perannum), said Director, Career centre at SRMIST, Sriram Padmanabhan. For all these Day 1 companies, the highest number of offers at an All India level have been made in the SRMIST campus than any other campus. This year, the highest offer made on the campus, was 41.6 lakhs per annum by Microsoft. More than 120 companies have visited the campus this year since the commencement of the placement season on July 22 and have made close to 6000 offers as on date. Top recruiters this year include Amazon (18 offers of 32 lakhs per annum), Barclays (25 offers of 10 lakhs per annum) and startup Udaan (4offers of 30 lakhs per annum. Besides, organizations like Veritas and Pay Pal  have made internship offers whereby selected students would work in the companies during the final semester with a good chance of bagging offers.

Department of Telecommunication concludes its workshop with Southern State Authorities Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications as a part of its nationwide State Government outreach programme to achieve goals of National Digital Communications Policy 2018 today concluded its first chapter of awareness workshop with Southern State Authorities (Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, A&N Island and Lakshadweep Island).  The workshop discussed about Broadband Readiness Index (BRI) for states, Right of Way issues, implementation and utilisation of BharatNet, connectivity to uncovered villages, issues of alleged Electromagnetic Field (EMF) Emission from mobile towers and role of DoT LSA in States/UTs in implementation of various programs of DoT and coordination with State Authorities.
