Chennai to host the Third Global Summit of Tamil Entrepreneurs and Professionals

• The Third Global Summit to be held on November 14, 15 and 16, 2019

Chennai, 19^th September 2019: The Third Global Summit of Tamil Entrepreneurs and Professionals would take place in Chennai during November 14 - 16 this year, it was announced today in the city. Envisioned and created by The Rise, a fast expanding global network of Tamil entrepreneurs and professionals, the forthcoming summit is the third edition within a short span of eleven months, a commendable feat for a new organization.

"The Summit calls for deepening of a culture of multi-stakeholder collaborations, and expansion of resources based small and medium entrepreneurial ventures. This summit is aimed at addressing the massive joblessness and economic downturn that the country is witnessing today, while keeping the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations as the foundational belief for action," said Fr. Jegath Gaspar Raj, Founder Visionary and Global Head of The Rise movement.

Terming the recent overseas visits of Chief Minister Mr. Edapadi Palanisamy as a welcome step in the right direction, Senior Advocate and Chairman of The Rise India Trust Mr. R.Gandhi said that The Rise movement is willing to work closely with the Govt. of Tamil Nadu in strengthening a collaborative frame-work of global Tamil entrepreneurs and professionals. He further informed that more than one thousand delegates are expected to participate in the third Global Summit representing five continents and more than thirty-five countries, even countries like East Timor, Bostwana and Surinam.

Prof. Dr. Narmatha, Convener of Institutional Innovation Council of the Women's Christian College that is hosting the Summit, called upon the student community and the youth to dream and dare, transform themselves from job seekers to job creating entrepreneurial adventurers. “This is the prime reason why WCC is partnering with The Rise" she opined.

One major initiative of The Rise Summit will be – GTAI (Global Tamil Angel Investors) Mr. Mohan Kumaramangalam, a professional Fund Manager cum investor, and active politician would head this initiative. GTAI will encourage and nurture entrepreneurship in Tamil Nadu by providing funds, market access and mentorship. The overarching mission is to create substantial employment opportunities for the educated Tamil Youth by helping Tamil entrepreneurs build successful companies.

The Rise Team is working on to create an interface between various industries and institutions during the Summit. "Frequency of such multi-industry interfaces can help dependent enterprises to innovate, cut cost, increase efficiency and strengthen collaborations “, said Fr. Jegath Gaspar Raj.

Mr. Josh Foulger, MD and Country Head of Foxconn India will lead a high-level panel to deliberate on how to turn Tamil Nadu into a hundred billion dollar Electronics Hub. Mr. Josh believes that manufacturing holds the scope and potential for massive job generation along with countless number of allied small - medium companies.
