MMA Creates History: Wins AIMA's Best Management Association In India Award For 16th Consecutive Year

Chennai, September 21, 2026: Madras Management Association (MMA) has created history by once again receiving the prestigious “Best Management Association in India” Award from the All India Management Association (AIMA) for 2025–26, marking an extraordinary 16th consecutive year of receiving the coveted national honour. The achievement assumes special significance as MMA celebrates its Platinum Jubilee, adding another milestone to its seven-decade journey of advancing management excellence.

MMA receives the “Best Management Association in India Award” for 2025–26 at AIMA’s National Management Convention in New Delhi. The award was presented by Mr Amitabh Kant, Former G20 Sherpa, India; Former CEO, NITI Aayog; and Senior Adviser, Fairfax, SMBC & Warburg Pincus. The honour was received on behalf of MMA by Mr Lakshminarayanan Duraiswamy, Immediate Past President; Mr A R Unnikrishnan, President; and Gp Capt R Vijayakumar (Retd), VSM, Executive Director, MMA

Mr A R Unnikrishnan, President, MMA, said the recognition for 16 successive years is a testimony to MMA’s sustained leadership, consistency and contribution to the management movement in India. He said MMA has consistently brought contemporary management thinking, global perspectives and best practices within the reach of professionals, entrepreneurs, students, academicians and institutions. 

Gp Capt R Vijayakumar (Retd), VSM, Executive Director, MMA, said the award reflects MMA’s commitment to management education, professional excellence, thought leadership and lifelong learning. Through conferences, conventions, lectures, workshops, competitions, leadership programmes and knowledge initiatives, MMA has created platforms connecting industry, government, academia and society with the wider management fraternity. 

The award was presented by Mr Amitabh Kant, Former G20 Sherpa (India), Former CEO, NITI Aayog, and Senior Adviser – Fairfax, SMBC & Warburg Pincus, during the inaugural session of AIMA’s Platinum Jubilee National Management Convention at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi, on September 21, 2026. 

The prestigious honour was received on behalf of MMA by Mr Lakshminarayanan Duraiswamy, Immediate Past President, MMA; Mr A R Unnikrishnan, President, MMA; and Gp Capt R Vijayakumar (Retd), VSM, Executive Director, MMA. MMA said this historic achievement has been made possible by the steadfast support of its members, Managing Committee, institutional and knowledge partners, sponsors, speakers, faculty, chapters and well-wishers. 

As MMA celebrates its Platinum Jubilee alongside this unprecedented national recognition, the Association has rededicated itself to building managerial excellence, developing future-ready leaders and strengthening the management movement through renewed energy, innovation and purpose.
