The newly upgraded store, spread across nearly 6,000 sq. ft., is designed as a comprehensive destination for modern home solutions. It features a wide range of modular, configurable, and personalised furniture across bedroom, living, and dining segments, along with a newly introduced line of soft furnishings. The revamp underscores the brand’s focus on enhancing customer experience and making contemporary design more accessible.
Alongside the store launch, Interio outlined ambitious growth plans for the region. The company is targeting a 40% market share in Chennai over the next three years and aims to generate revenues of ₹45 crore from the city and ₹65 crore from Tamil Nadu in FY 2026–27. Overall, it expects a 25% growth trajectory in the Southern market, with a broader target of ₹550 crore in revenue from the region.
Dr. Dev Narayan Sarkar, Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Business (B2C), Interio by Godrej, said Chennai remains a strategically important market, driven by steady residential demand and a strong pipeline of housing developments. He noted that the city recorded over 5,000 residential unit launches in the last quarter, reflecting sustained demand supported by a stable workforce and ongoing infrastructure growth.
He further observed a clear shift in consumer preferences towards organised and modular home solutions, with increasing demand for functional, clutter-free spaces that emphasise durability, efficient space utilisation, and clean design. Categories such as multifunctional furniture, storage-led solutions, and work-from-home setups are witnessing strong traction, shaped by compact urban living and evolving household needs.
Interio has strengthened its footprint in Chennai with eight showrooms, 45 channel partners, and 250 retailers, supported by a wider distribution network across Tamil Nadu. The company is also seeing rising demand for modular kitchens, mattresses, and integrated interior solutions.
The ‘Moments That Matter’ study, based on responses from over 2,600 participants across India, provides insights into changing lifestyle patterns. In Southern India, 95% of respondents said they sleep best in their own bed, while 86% prefer to unwind at home on Friday evenings, indicating a strong inclination towards home-centric living.
Significantly, 93% of respondents highlighted the importance of spending time with loved ones and sharing daily experiences, underlining the emotional value attached to home spaces. The findings suggest that homes are increasingly being designed not just for functionality, but also to foster relaxation, connection, and overall well-being.
With its renewed retail presence and consumer-focused insights, Interio by Godrej is positioning itself to tap into evolving lifestyle aspirations and expand its share in one of South India’s most dynamic home interiors markets.
