Dish TV Strengthens South India Presence with Affordable Regional Entertainment Packs

Chennai, May 20: Dish TV India Ltd. has announced an enhanced South India-focused entertainment offering aimed at delivering affordable, language-first television content and uninterrupted viewing experiences for households across the region.

The company said the new initiative has been designed keeping in mind the evolving viewing preferences of audiences in South India, where television continues to play a significant role in family entertainment and regional storytelling. The offering includes specially curated regional packs starting at ₹149 per month, featuring entertainment, movies, sports, and local programming in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.

According to the company, the base offering will provide access to more than 225 channels. This includes over 36 Tamil channels along with dedicated Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam packs offering more than 30 channels each. Subscribers will also have the flexibility to customise their channel packs based on their viewing preferences.

As part of the upgraded experience, Dish TV has introduced a ‘Sports Always-On’ feature, enabling viewers to continue accessing important sporting content even during recharge gaps or temporary service interruptions. The company said the feature has been introduced to ensure uninterrupted access to live sports and daily entertainment content.

Speaking about the initiative, Manoj Dobhal, CEO and Executive Director, Dish TV India Ltd., said South India remains one of the company’s most important markets due to its strong regional language preferences and deeply rooted entertainment culture. He noted that the new packs have been introduced to make quality entertainment more accessible while ensuring a seamless viewing experience for consumers.

Sukhpreet Singh said the enhanced offering has been developed around consumer demand for affordability, convenience, and regional entertainment choices. He added that the initiative combines strong language-based content with uninterrupted access and value-driven pricing.

With the launch of the enhanced regional strategy, Dish TV aims to further strengthen its presence in South India by offering more personalised, consumer-centric, and language-led entertainment experiences tailored to regional audiences.
