Apollo Hospitals Launches Dedicated Centre for Venous Disorders in Chennai
Chennai, 7 May 2026: Apollo Hospitals has launched a dedicated Centre for Venous Disorders at its flagship facility on Greams Road in Chennai, marking a significant step towards strengthening specialised vascular care services in the city.
The newly inaugurated centre aims to provide comprehensive treatment for a wide range of venous disorders through a multidisciplinary and patient-centric approach. The facility integrates vascular surgery, radiology, dermatology, and wound care services under one roof, enabling seamless access to diagnosis, treatment, and long-term follow-up care.
Designed to improve efficiency and patient outcomes, the centre offers same-day consultations, rapid diagnostics, and minimally invasive day-care procedures. It is equipped with advanced imaging systems and modern treatment technologies to address conditions such as varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), venous ulcers, chronic venous insufficiency, and venous bleeding.
According to the hospital, patients undergoing treatment at the centre are expected to benefit from shorter hospital stays, faster recovery, and improved clinical outcomes.
Speaking at the launch, Dr Ilankumaran Kaliamoorthy said the initiative represents a major advancement in addressing venous disorders, which often remain underdiagnosed and undertreated. He noted that the centre’s multidisciplinary model and advanced technologies would help deliver timely, efficient, and minimally invasive treatment while improving patients’ quality of life and long-term health outcomes.
Dr Balaji highlighted that many venous disorders are commonly mistaken as cosmetic concerns despite their significant impact on mobility and overall well-being. He emphasised the importance of early diagnosis and intervention, adding that the centre would focus on precise and minimally invasive treatments that ensure quicker recovery and sustained results.
Echoing similar views, Dr Rajarajan Venkatesan said many patients approach hospitals only after complications such as ulcers or thrombosis develop. He stated that the centre’s approach extends beyond treatment to include comprehensive evaluation, risk assessment, and long-term management aimed at preventing recurrence.
The launch event was attended by senior hospital leadership and clinical experts, including Naveen and Dr Anil.
The Centre for Venous Disorders will offer services including early screening and risk assessment, advanced imaging and same-day diagnostics, laser and endovenous therapies, wound care and ulcer management, as well as long-term follow-up and lifestyle guidance.
With this initiative, Apollo Hospitals continues to expand its specialised healthcare services while focusing on advanced treatment solutions and improved patient care outcomes in vascular medicine.
