Iswarya Hospital Opens Advanced Cancer Centre in Chennai; Introduces Al-powered PET-CT scan & cutting-edge oncology services

Chennai, 8 March 2026: Strengthening its commitment to advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment, Iswarya Hospital has inaugurated the Iswarya Cancer Centre at its OMR Taramani facility in Chennai. The new centre introduces a comprehensive range of oncology services including high-precision radiotherapy, immunotherapy, complex cancer surgeries, and an AI-powered PET-CT scan designed to enable highly accurate early detection and evaluation of cancer.

The centre was inaugurated by actor Sathyaraj, who attended as the Chief Guest, in the presence of Dr. S. Rajasundaram, CEO of Iswarya Hospital, and Dr. Arun Muthuvel, Managing Director, along with the hospital’s multidisciplinary oncology team.

The newly launched centre brings together multiple cancer care specialties under one roof, including surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, bone marrow transplant, pediatric oncology, preventive oncology, nuclear medicine and theranostics, onco-pathology, and palliative care. The facility is also equipped to perform complex oncological surgeries supported by advanced operation theatre infrastructure and specialized surgical teams.

According to Dr. S. Rajasundaram, cancer continues to be one of India’s major health challenges, with cases projected to rise significantly in the coming years. He noted that late diagnosis remains one of the biggest barriers to improving survival outcomes, highlighting that technologies such as AI-powered PET-CT imaging and high-precision radiotherapy will help detect disease earlier, assess its spread more accurately, and guide treatment decisions more effectively.

Dr. Arun Muthuvel said the launch marks a major milestone for the hospital’s expanding oncology services. By integrating expert specialists, advanced imaging technologies, immunotherapy, and complex surgical capabilities within a single facility, the centre aims to deliver comprehensive and patient-centric cancer care while emphasizing the importance of early detection and timely treatment.

The AI-powered PET-CT system at the centre combines advanced imaging with artificial intelligence-driven analysis, enabling clinicians to detect cancer earlier, monitor treatment response more effectively, and design personalized treatment plans for patients.
With the launch of the Iswarya Cancer Centre in OMR Taramani, the hospital aims to strengthen access to advanced diagnostics, high-precision treatment, and multidisciplinary cancer care for patients across Chennai and beyond.
