Nippo Batteries Celebrates Founder Shri P. Obul Reddy’s 100th Birth Anniversary with Special Commemorative Postal Stamp
Chennai, Dec 5, 2025: Indo National Limited (Nippo) marked a historic milestone with the release of a special commemorative postal stamp honouring the 100th birth anniversary of its founder, Shri P. Obul Reddy. Held as part of the Centenary of Light celebrations, the event brought together the Reddy family, Nippo employees, dignitaries, and industry well-wishers to celebrate the legacy of a visionary who helped shape India’s electrical and electronics industry.
The celebration featured a lamp-lighting ceremony, the musical tribute “100 Seconds of Music,” a special film titled A Century of Light, and heartfelt reflections from the Reddy family, who remembered Shri Obul Reddy’s entrepreneurial courage and his belief in placing people before products. The commemorative stamp, unveiled on November 30th by Major Manoj M., IPoS, Director of Postal Services, Chennai, recognised the family’s lasting social and industrial impact.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Aditya Reddy, Joint Managing Director, said the centenary marked a reaffirmation of the values on which Indo National was built — courage, integrity, and a people-first philosophy. CEO Mr. Pavan Kumar BVS highlighted Shri Obul Reddy’s forward-thinking approach, from pioneering battery innovations to diversifying into televisions, lighting and consumer electronics, noting that his vision continues to guide Nippo’s modernisation and future innovation.
The event also included Nippo Trivia, Long Service Awards, the “100 People” testimony film, cultural performances, and an employee talent showcase, creating an emotionally resonant tribute. The evening concluded with leaders, employees, and family members pledging to carry forward the enduring legacy of Shri P. Obul Reddy and his spirit of purpose-driven progress.
