“Men’s health remains one of the most under-discussed areas in preventive medicine,” said Dr. Sanjay Prakash J, Clinical Lead – AINU Andrology. “We’re seeing younger men face fertility and sexual health problems once confined to older age groups. Our goal is to normalise screening and encourage early intervention.”

Male Infertility – A Growing Concern
Recent Indian studies show male factors account for 40–50% of infertility cases, with abnormal semen quality seen in up to 72% of men studied. Declining sperm parameters over decades point to a worrying trend linked to stress, obesity, diabetes, smoking, and environmental toxins.

Erectile Dysfunction on the Rise
Erectile dysfunction (ED), once age-related, is increasingly seen among men under 40. National data show 16–25% prevalence overall, with 25% of cases now reported below age 30 — a sharp rise from a decade ago. Experts attribute this to metabolic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.

AINU’s Men’s Wellness Program
AINU Chennai’s new Men’s Health Wellness Program offers holistic screening covering sexual, reproductive, and metabolic health, including andrologist consultation, hormone profiling, diabetes and lipid screening, scrotal ultrasound, and semen analysis. “The stigma around men’s health delays diagnosis and treatment,” Dr. Sanjay added. “Early screening is not optional—it’s essential.”
