Windergy India 2025 Set to Power India’s Clean Energy Future; To be Inaugurated by Cabinet Minister Prahlad Joshi
Chennai: The 7th edition of Windergy India 2025, the country’s premier international trade fair and conference on wind energy, will take place from October 29–31 at the Chennai Trade Centre. Inaugurated by Shri Pralhad Joshi, Cabinet Minister for New and Renewable Energy, along with Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State, the event is expected to draw over 350 exhibitors from 20+ countries and attract 15,000+ visitors.

India ranks 4th globally in installed wind capacity, with 53 GW as of August 2025—signaling significant progress toward its national goal of 150 GW. Windergy India 2025 will provide a platform for policy dialogue, innovation sharing, and global collaboration.

Shri Pralhad Joshi emphasized the role of partnerships: "The success of India’s clean energy transition depends on strong collaboration. Windergy India 2025 brings together key players to accelerate progress."
Organized by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and PDA Ventures, the event is backed by the Ministry of Power, MNRE, NITI Aayog, and other leading energy institutions. Karnataka joins as the Partner State, with country pavilions from Denmark, Germany, and Spain underscoring the event’s global focus.
India’s wind sector is benefitting from recent policy reforms, including a GST reduction on wind energy equipment from 12% to 5%, aimed at boosting affordability and innovation..Mr. Aditya Pyasi, CEO of IWTMA, stated: "Wind power is not just clean energy—it’s the cornerstone of our national self-reliance."
Themed “Wind Power: Policies and Partnerships Towards Aatmanirbharta”, the conference on October 30–31 will feature sessions on wind manufacturing, state leadership, offshore wind, repowering, and women leaders in the sector. It will also host the Tulsi R. Tanti Memorial Lecture and deep dives into challenges in cost reduction and supply chain competitiveness.
Key partners include Suzlon, GE Vernova, Envision Energy, Leap Green, UL Solutions, Exxon Mobil, and others.
