‘𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘛𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭 𝘕𝘢𝘥𝘶’ 𝘋𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘳 𝘓𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩, 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦’𝘴 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴

Chennai, 12th September 2025 – The Tamil Nadu Forest Department today launched the trailer of “Wild Tamil Nadu”, a landmark wildlife documentary celebrating the State’s extraordinary biodiversity. Released at Taj Connemara, Chennai, the film is a CSR initiative by Sundram Fasteners, directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Kalyan Varma, in collaboration with Nature inFocus.

From misty Ghats and hidden waterfalls to flamingo-filled wetlands and glowing firefly forests, the trailer offers a glimpse of Tamil Nadu’s stunning ecosystems. The hour-long documentary features an original score by Grammy-winner Ricky Kej and narration by actor Arvind Swamy.

Produced to inspire pride and conservation awareness, the film is described by Varma as a tribute to Tamil Nadu’s deep connection between culture and wilderness. It is supported by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department and will premiere in Chennai before touring other cities and international film festivals.

Sundram Fasteners MD Arathi Krishna called the film “a powerful journey into the untamed spirit of Tamil Nadu,” while Additional Chief Secretary Supriya Sahu emphasized its role in inspiring collective action for ecological preservation.
