B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute & Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Launches Centre of Excellence for Built Environment and Executive Leadership Programme
Chennai, September 19, 2025: B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology has launched the RICS–Crescent Centre of Excellence for Built Environment (CoEBE), along with the Executive Leadership Programme (ELP) in Construction Project Management. This milestone initiative aims to transform how India develops talent and fosters innovation in the built environment sector.
The launch event brought together senior government officials, business leaders, academic experts, and media representatives, highlighting Crescent’s growing role in advancing education, research, and sustainable development.

Founded in 1984, Crescent University is a nationally recognized institution offering a wide range of academic programs through 12 Schools and over 21 Departments. Known for its strong emphasis on technical excellence, research, and community engagement, Crescent consistently ranks in NIRF, QS, and THE global frameworks.
The newly established CoEBE, developed in partnership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), is designed to serve as a nexus between academia, industry, and government. It will focus on innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation in construction, real estate, and infrastructure. Through research, policy dialogues, advisory services, and startup support in areas like prop-tech and smart urban solutions, CoEBE aims to position Chennai as a leading hub for resilient and future-ready cities.
To further this mission, the Executive Leadership Programme in Construction Project Management will equip mid-career professionals with global competencies and prepare them for credentials such as MRICS. The programme emphasizes practical skills in project planning, risk management, sustainability, and digital technologies—delivered by seasoned industry experts.
Together, CoEBE and ELP represent Crescent University’s commitment to shaping the future of the built environment through collaboration, innovation, and global best practices.
