100 Robotic Surgeries! Prashanth Hospitals Dr.Parimuthukumar Sets a New Benchmark in Tamil Nadu Healthcare
Chennai, September 25, 2025 – Prashanth Hospitals proudly celebrated a major healthcare milestone as Dr. Parimuthukumar, Clinical Lead, Institute of Robotic Surgeries, became the first surgeon in Chennai to complete 100 successful indigenous robotic abdominal surgeries. Dr. Parimuthukumar has also performed India’s first inter-hospital robotic telesurgery, connecting hospitals across a distance of 340 kilometers – a pioneering feat in the country’s medical history. The 100 robotic surgeries performed include procedures such as gall bladder removal, uterus removal, hernia repairs, colonic cancer surgeries, and spleen removals. By replacing traditional open surgeries with robotic-assisted techniques, patients have benefitted from smaller incisions, reduced pain, quicker recoveries, and enhanced surgical precision.
