Chennai: Vasan Eye Care Hospital, Chromepet launches advanced Free Eye Care Surgeries, under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMHS). This initiative, For the health and well-being of the people, under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme, will provide free surgical treatments, including Retina, Glaucoma, Pediatric Cataract, and Cornea.

During the Press Conference, Dr.P.B.Kaushik, Medical Director- Chennai Region, Vasan Eye Care Hospital said that, At Vasan Eye Care Hospital, free treatment is available for diabetic retinopathy under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme. The following eye conditions are also covered under this scheme: Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataract surgery (including for children), Congenital eye defects in children, Glaucoma (Increased eye pressure)

Patients suffering from these conditions can avail free treatment under the CMCHIS scheme.
Required Documents to Avail the Scheme:
- Health insurance card (CMCHIS)
- Aadhaar card
- Family card (Ration Card)
- Annual family income below ₹1,20,000
- Income certificate from the Village Administrative Officer (VAO)
With the required documents, patients can register at the Taluk office or through e-Sevai centers to receive the health insurance card.
Vasan Eye Care Branches Providing Free Treatment: Patients with CMCHIS cards can receive free treatment at the following Vasan Eye Care branches: Chennai, Erode, Salem, Hosur & Madurai.
Each of these branches has dedicated coordinators to guide patients in availing benefits under this scheme. This scheme operates effectively under the vision of the Chief Minister’s Health Program in authorized hospitals.
