Chennai: Mr.Aadhav Arjuna President BFI during the press meet said that for the first time, TN state will host an international men’s basketball tournament: the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers (Window 2). This prestigious event will take place at the renowned Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on November 22nd and 25th, 2024.

𝘍𝘐𝘉𝘈 𝘈𝘴𝘪𝘢 𝘊𝘶𝘱 2025 𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘉𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘵𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘯𝘢𝘪

This tournament will showcase 24 national teams from across Asia, all competing for a place in Asia’s premier men’s basketball championship. Bringing this event to Chennai represents a significant leap forward in the growth and development of basketball in our region and highlights Tamil Nadu's commitment to promoting international sports.

The India Senior Men’s Basketball Team will go head-to-head against Qatar on November 22nd and Kazakhstan on November 25th. As part of their rigorous preparation, our national team has been training in Chennai since June and recently completed two exposure trips to Dubai, where they played against top-tier clubs, gaining valuable experience for these crucial matches. Fans can expect intense competition and thrilling moments as our players face off against some of the best teams in Asia.

This is the first time since the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup in 2009 that Chennai will host an international tournament, making this an especially proud and historic moment.

Chennai, August 19, 2025: In a remarkable medical achievement, the multidisciplinary team at SIMS Hospital successfully treated a young IT professional suffering from Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans (DFSP), a rare and aggressive skin cancer that swiftly spreads to surrounding tissues, including muscle and bone. In the patient’s case, the cancer had severely affected his scalp and skull. The scalp is now fully covered with healthy and stable tissue. The patient will need regular follow-up for early detection of recurrence, sun protection, and good scalp hygiene. After the tumour was removed, the patient’s skull was reconstructed. Then, the scalp was repaired in stages using skin grafts ,flaps tissue expander and the final repair using a piece of tissue from the patient’s thigh. Chennai, August 22, 2025 — A recent study by the Insurance Awareness Committee (IAC-Life), conducted in collaboration with Kantar, a market research platform has identified Tamil Nadu as one of the states with a high potential for life insurance penetration. The study underscored the importance of region-specific insights in advancing life insurance penetration.
