Mar Gregorios College of Arts & Science Hosts Vibrant Fresher's Day Celebration


Chennai, July 27, 2024: Mar Gregorios College of Arts & Science welcomed its new batch of students with a grand Fresher's Day celebration on July 27, 2024. The event, meticulously  was organized and anchored by A. Ganesh Raghav from III B.A. English, Hemalatha from III B.A. English and J.Gokila from III BSC Computer Science. 
It  began at 8:30 am with a prayer song, the Tamil Thai Vazhthu performed by the college choir. The lighting of the KuthuVilakku, a traditional lamp, was lighted  by esteemed dignitaries including Secretary Rev. Fr. Mathew Pallikunnel and Principal Dr. R. Srikanth, setting a solemn and  auspicious  tone  for the day.

The program was a blend of cultural performances and formal ceremonies. Highlights included a welcome dance by students Ms. K. S. Abarna , a heartfelt welcome address by Mr. D. Selvaraj, and a series of light music and dance performances showcasing the fresher’s talents. 
The event also featured a special segment for the felicitation and oath-taking of office bearers, presided over by Principal Dr. R. Srikanth. Mr.Samuel Thomson, a Music Teacher, an alumni of Mar Gregorios College, the Chief Guest of this program, gave motivational speech to the Freshers. The celebration concluded with a spirited NSS performance, a vote of thanks by Mr. V. SenthilMurugan, and the national anthem, leaving the new students with a memorable introduction to their college life.
