Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) Launches Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Sexual and Reproductive Health


Chennai, October 19, 2023: The Family planning Association of India is a nonprofit NGO working in the field of Sexual and Reproductive health. The Association is implementing a project "Minimum initial Service Package" (MISP) to safe guard the reproductive health of the people during disasters with the following objectives.

The Association organized a Sensitization Work Shop for the Media on 19.10.2023 at Maple Tree Hotel, Vadapalani to sensitize the Media Personnel on the MISP objectives. 

Mrs.N.Leelavathy, Chaiperson, FPAI, Dr.J.Vasanthakumari, Vice Chairperson, FPAI, Dr.Alamel Mangai, Mr.M.Munavar Basha, Consultant and Mrs.P. Padmaselvi, Branch Manager participated in the meeting. They explained on the project details of Minimum initial Service Package.

Objective of the Project:
  • Ensure the health cluster identifies and organization to lead the MISP for SRH
  • Prevent sexual Violence and respond to the needs of survivors
  • Prevent and reduce morbidity and mortality due to HIV and other STIS
  • Prevent excess maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality
  • Prevent unintended pregnancies
  • Plan for comprehensive SRH services integrated into Primary Health Care as soon as possible
Ensure that safe abortion care is available, to the full extent of the law, in health centers and hospitals.
