Sai University Welcomed Its 3rd Batch of Undergraduate Students for Its Liberal Education Programs


  • Orientation day held at Four Points by Sheraton Mahabalipuram on 7th August 2023.

The program began with an academic procession, where the vice chancellor officially inducted the new cohort.

The founder and chancellor, Mr. K.V. Ramani, addressed the students, highlighting the university's aim to be a catalyst for interdisciplinary career paths. The five pillars of Sai University were also emphasized, including the eminent board of governance, distinguished faculty, interdisciplinary curriculum, infrastructure, and the students.

The vice chancellor of Sai University, Prof. Jamshed Bharucha, emphasized the importance of preparing students for the future with their undergraduate curriculum and pedagogy. Prof. Bharucha advised students to keep learning to stay ahead in the age of AI and promised that Sai University will support and guide them in their journey.

The students will enjoy a 5-day orientation program from August 7-11, 2023 to help them become familiar with their curriculum, pedagogy, and fellow classmates who are from 9 different states across India. The program includes various activities such as icebreakers, games, mental health sessions, meditation, antiragging, POSH, and more.

Sai University provides 14 multidisciplinary undergraduate programs including BTECH, BA (HONS), BSC (HONS), and BA LLB (HONS) from three schools with unique interdisciplinary majors such as cognitive neuroscience, literature communication and cultural studies, biological sciences, and politics philosophy and economics. These schools are school of arts and sciences, school of law, and school of computing and data science.

Sai University's school of law recently introduced postgraduate programs that includes 1 year LLM in regulation and governance, and 2 years MA in public policy specialisation in technology law and policy.

Sai University's campus spans 103 acres in Paiyanur OMR, Chennai. There are two academic blocks, with Block 1 accommodating up to 250 students and Block 2 accommodating up to 550 students. Both blocks have air-conditioned classrooms, labs, seminar halls, and a library.

The campus is continuously being upgraded to accommodate up to 20,000 students in the future. Additionally, the campus has essential amenities such as faculty offices, staff workstations, a cafeteria, and dining space.

Indoor and outdoor recreational facilities are also available for students, including sports like football, volleyball, cricket, shuttle courts, carrom, and table tennis.
