Rotary Club of Madras ties up with Apollo Childrens Hospital to save children with heart diseases


Chennai, March 03, 2023: Rotary Club of Madras has partnered with Apollo Children's Hospital, Chennai to help these children get the life-saving treatment that they need. On the 3rd of March 2023 Rotary Club of Madras signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Apollo Children's Hospital to support heart procedures in children with heart defects through their "Save a Little Heart Initiative." With an initial cost outlay of over 35 lacs

Heart defects are the most common major birth defects affecting one in every 120 children.  In India, up to 270,000 infants (age <1 year) are born with a heart defect every year. Unfortunately, most children living with heart defects in the poorer sections of society escape detection or lack the resources for treatment.
