Chennai, April 22, 2022: Rotary Club of Madras District 3232 today organised "One Walk One Hope" Cancer Awareness Walkathon at ISSM Business school auditorium, Taramani, Chennai as part of  Smt Meenakshi Eshwaran memorial foundation. The event was co-ordinated by Rtn.Shivkumar Eashwaran, Youth Services Chairman 21-22 and Rtn.Parkavi Mahalingam, Youth Services Director 21-22

The Walkathon was inaugurated by Shri M Ravi, IPS,  Tambaram Police Commissioner in the presence of Shri Mohan Ram, President, Rotary Club of Madras 21-22 and other Rotarians. Around 387 Rotractor’s and interactors walked for about 6.2 kms and all the participants were presented with Cancer Awareness Books.




On this occasion, they thanked all the police personnel from Chennai City Traffic Police, Tambaram Range Traffice Police, Chennai city Intelligence Section, Tambaram Intelligence, Adayar Traffic, Velachery Traffic, Taramani Law & Order, Taramani Traffic range Asst. Commisioner, Inspectors, Sub Inspectors & other Police Personnel for their support.

Chennai, March 24, 2026: In a landmark advancement for cardiac care in India, Madras Medical Mission (MMM) has successfully performed the country’s first implantation of the Evaheart Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), while also achieving a global first with the implantation of the latest-generation Evaheart 3 model. The breakthrough procedure offers renewed hope for patients suffering from end-stage heart failure with limited treatment options. The procedure was carried out on a 42-year-old man who presented with severe chest pain and breathlessness and was diagnosed with a massive heart attack that caused extensive damage to the heart muscle.
