February 2019: Chennaites now have another Restaurant, from the famed House of
Saveras, the iconic hospitality landmark of Chennai for over 50 years, in the
heart of the City in Chamiers Road, to satiate their hunger!
One of the latest
Franchisees of the Savera Brands Kaaraikudi and Delhi Dhaba, launched the
restaurant today in Chamiers Road. Housed in a property in the ground floor
admeasuring 3000 Sq.ft., the restaurant can cater to a capacity of about 110
pax. The beautiful ambience in the Kaaraikudi section portrays the pictures of
Chettinad including traditional wall hangings and the Delhi Dhaba sports a neat
typical Dhaba look.
Chettinad food is one of the spiciest and
most aromatic foods in India characterised by liberal use of spices such as
peppercorn, cinnamon, bay leaves, chillies, cardamom, etc., and offers a wide
variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The Chettinad Menu includes
Savera’s signature dishes like Crab Pepper Masala, Fish Kariveppilai Fry,
Kaadai (Quail Bird) Fry/Masala, Mutton Nalli Kuzhambu, Sora Puttu and more such
gastronomical delights. Vegetarian dishes are also done equal justice with the
menu including all types of Panniyaram (Vellai, Paal, Kuzhi, Masala),
Idiyappam, Kozhukkattai, Kandharappam, etc., Delhi Dhaba is a one-of-its-kind
fine-dine restaurants serving the authentic flavors of the North Indian
delicacies, offering a wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, in a
lovey ambiance. The Non-vegetarian Menu includes Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter
Chicken, Murgh Afghani Kebab, Murgh Chilli Milli Kebab, Tandoori Chicken, etc.,
while the Vegetarian Menu features the equally popular dishes such as Paneer
Tikka, Gobi Manchurian, Paneer Butter Masala, Dhal Makhani, Subzi Punjabi,
etc., The sweet toothed find their delights as well in the Menu.
The owners Mr. Sathyanarayanan and Mr.
Umashankar said it’s a very rare comibination to have both Chettinad &
North Indian cuisine under one roof. They also expressed that they would be
happy to cater to Corporate get-togethers, Birthday Parties, and the like apart
from offering take-aways.
