Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation Invites Nominations for the 30th National Mahaveer Awards 2027
Chennai, June 2026: Celebrating 30 years of honouring compassion, service, and social impact, the Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation has invited nominations from Tamil Nadu for the prestigious 30th National Mahaveer Awards 2027.
Recognised among India's most respected civilian honours for selfless service, the awards celebrate individuals and institutions making an extraordinary difference in Non-Violence & Vegetarianism, Education, Medicine, and Community & Social Service. Each award carries a ₹10 lakh cash prize, along with a citation and memento. Nominations are open until July 31, 2026.
Over the past three decades, including the recently announced 29th edition, the Foundation has honoured 101 exceptional changemakers from 26 States and 2 Union Territories. Tamil Nadu has emerged as one of the leading contributors, with 17 awardees—among the highest representations in the country.
Indian citizens and institutions dedicated to serving the needy, underprivileged, and voiceless are encouraged to apply. The awardees will be selected by an eminent jury chaired by Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India, ensuring a transparent and rigorous selection process.
The distinguished jury also includes Justice D. Y. Chandrachud, S. Gurumurthy, Prof. B. M. Hegde, T. S. Krishnamurthy, D. R. Mehta, Prabhat Kumar, Justice G. S. Singhvi, and Dr. Shiv Kumar Sarin—bringing together some of India's most respected leaders from the judiciary, governance, medicine, and public life.
If you know an individual or institution creating meaningful change, this is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate their contribution to society.
