Rhapsody’s 10th Edition Raised Support for Underprivileged Cancer Patients in Chennai
Chennai, May 9: The 10th edition of Rhapsody, the flagship annual fundraising event organised by Thenmozhi Memorial Trust, was held at the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall in Chennai on Saturday, bringing together artists, actors, cancer survivors, and members of the public in support of underprivileged cancer patients.
Conducted every year on the eve of Mother’s Day, Rhapsody continued its mission of supporting cancer fighters, honouring those lost to the disease, and celebrating cancer survivors through a fundraising initiative dedicated to providing financial assistance for treatment and care.

The milestone edition featured a series of performances by leading personalities from the Tamil entertainment industry, including Samuthirakani, Aadhi, Mime Gopi, Attakathi Dinesh, Kalaiarasan, Thambi Ramaiah, Adirchi Arun, Sunita Gogoi, Pa. Ranjith, and Pa. Vijay among others. Their participation helped amplify awareness about the cause and drew support from attendees.
One of the highlights of the evening was the ramp walk by cancer survivor warriors, a tradition that symbolised courage, resilience, and hope. The segment received an emotional response from the audience and reinforced the event’s message of strength and solidarity.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Kumar M, Founder of Thenmozhi Memorial Trust, said Rhapsody had always represented “love, remembrance, and giving,” and noted that the organisation remained committed to supporting those battling cancer while honouring the spirit of motherhood that inspired the initiative every year.
Organisers said the funds raised through the programme would be utilised to support treatment expenses, medical care, and essential services for economically disadvantaged cancer patients.
Marking a decade of impact, the 10th edition of Rhapsody once again brought the community together for an evening centred on compassion, unity, and hope.
