RenewX 2026 Opens in Chennai, Celebrating a Decade of Driving India’s Clean Energy Transition

The landmark edition brings together over 200 leading brands, more than 50 distinguished speakers, and is expected to attract upwards of 8,000 industry professionals, reaffirming its status as a key marketplace for solar, energy storage, bio-energy, smart grids, and emerging clean technologies.

The inauguration witnessed the presence of prominent industry leaders and global representatives, including Neha Thomas, Silai Zaki, P. Sivakumar, Yogesh Mudras, and Rajneesh Khattar.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Yogesh Mudras highlighted India’s pivotal moment in its energy transition, pointing to the country’s ambitious goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. He noted that RenewX has evolved into a strategic platform connecting policy, technology, investment, and global partnerships, particularly across South India where innovation and manufacturing capabilities are rapidly expanding.

India’s renewable energy sector continues to gain global prominence, ranking third in solar capacity, fourth in wind power, and third overall in total installed renewable energy capacity. As of October 2025, renewables account for nearly 39.66% of the nation’s total installed power capacity, reflecting steady progress toward energy security and sustainability.

The exhibition floor showcases cutting-edge innovations from leading players such as Waaree Energies, Vikram Solar, Emmvee, Swelect Energy Systems, Gautam Solar, Goldi Solar, and Wattpower, among others. The technologies on display highlight a shift toward integrated solutions combining generation, storage, and grid resilience.

A major highlight of the event is the three-day conference featuring over 50 expert speakers, focusing on key themes such as international trade opportunities, next-generation manufacturing, innovations in solar and energy storage, and the expanding role of bioenergy. A specialised masterclass by Centre for Study of Science, Technology and Policy is set to explore advancements in rooftop solar and Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV).

Hosting the event for the second consecutive year, Chennai reinforces Tamil Nadu’s leadership in renewable energy. The state boasts an installed renewable capacity of approximately 25,241 MW, accounting for nearly 58.6% of its total power capacity. It leads the nation in wind energy and remains a top solar-producing state, supported by progressive policies and strong industrial infrastructure.

RenewX 2026 is backed by key industry associations, including the Tamil Nadu Solar Energy Developers Association, Kerala Renewable Energy Entrepreneurs and Promoters Association, Karnataka Renewable Energy System Manufacturer Association, Telangana Solar Energy Association, and the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.

As it commemorates a decade of impact, RenewX continues to play a pivotal role in shaping South India’s renewable energy ecosystem by fostering collaboration, showcasing innovation, and driving the next phase of India’s clean energy growth.
