Shriram General Insurance Launches ‘Shri Health Suraksha 2.0’ with Expanded Health Coverage
National, March 12, 2026: Responding to evolving healthcare needs and rising medical costs, Shriram General Insurance Company (SGI) has launched Shri Health Suraksha 2.0, an enhanced health insurance plan designed to offer simple, affordable, and dependable protection for families. The indemnity-based policy introduces greater flexibility and broader coverage, addressing key gaps often found in traditional health insurance plans.
The upgraded policy removes standard caps on room and ICU charges and introduces unlimited restoration of the sum insured within a policy year, ensuring policyholders remain financially protected even during multiple hospitalisations. It also offers a cumulative bonus of up to 250% for claim-free years, significantly increasing the base sum insured over time.
Shri Health Suraksha 2.0 also expands emergency support with coverage for ambulance and air ambulance expenses up to the chosen sum insured, while integrating modern medical treatments with AYUSH therapies. The plan features a zero co-payment structure and includes coverage for medical consumables, helping reduce out-of-pocket expenses for policyholders.
Key features of the policy include unlimited restoration benefits, no room rent capping, zero co-payment, expanded ambulance coverage, consumables coverage, and enhanced cumulative bonus benefits.
Commenting on the launch, Anil Aggarwal, MD & CEO of Shriram General Insurance, said the product represents a strategic upgrade in the company’s retail health portfolio. He noted that by removing common restrictions such as room rent limits and co-payments, the company aims to provide a more dependable and comprehensive health cover that helps families stay financially resilient amid rising healthcare inflation.
