Unlike conventional medical awareness books that offer compartmentalised or piecemeal advice, The Universal Health Code does not prescribe specific recommendations. Instead, it explains the inner workings of the human body in a clear, integrated manner. Drawing parallels to a user manual, the book empowers readers to make informed decisions about food and lifestyle choices for optimal health. Richly illustrated and written in simple, layperson-friendly language, it aims to make complex medical concepts accessible and easy to understand.

Dr. Ravi Pachamuthu congratulated the authors, particularly Dr. Bose, noting that for the first time, readers have access to a unified guide that presents a holistic understanding of the entire human body. He lauded the 1984 batchmates of Madras Medical College for dedicating their time and expertise to enhancing public awareness, especially in addressing the rising burden of lifestyle diseases.

Dr. Vijay C. Bose highlighted that the book was five years in the making and was inspired by the growing incidence of lifestyle conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease, particularly in India. He emphasised that while many books offer condition-specific advice, this work equips readers with a foundational understanding of how the body functions — enabling them to strive not just for being disease-free, but for achieving optimal health.

The launch event also featured insightful addresses by the chief guests on the increasing burden of lifestyle diseases and the need for stronger public health awareness. Contributing authors shared perspectives underscoring the importance of informed, holistic health education in today’s knowledge-driven era.
