Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce Holds Interaction on Investment Opportunities in Bihar

Mumbai, 22 December 2025: The Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce (SICC) organised an interaction in Mumbai with the Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Government of Bihar, Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, to discuss potential investment opportunities for Swiss companies in the state. The meeting was attended by Mr. Satish Rao, President, Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce, members of the SICC Board, and senior officials from the Government of Bihar.

During the interaction, Dr. Jaiswal outlined the Government of Bihar’s industrial development vision and highlighted the state’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen its investment ecosystem. Discussions focused on key sectors where Swiss companies could explore opportunities, particularly in the context of the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), and how such investments could contribute to industrial growth and employment generation in Bihar.

Under TEPA, the EFTA countries have committed to invest USD 100 billion in India over the next 15 years, with the potential to generate up to 10 lakh jobs. The meeting explored how Bihar could align itself with this national framework and position the state as an attractive destination for Swiss enterprises seeking long-term and sustainable investments in India.

Dr. Jaiswal highlighted Bihar’s political stability, improving infrastructure, and the availability of a large workforce. He noted that the state government has introduced policy incentives and facilitative schemes to support businesses setting up operations in Bihar, with a strong focus on administrative support, consistency, and ease of doing business. He emphasised that Bihar has significant untapped potential and is committed to providing a predictable and supportive environment for industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Satish Rao said that Bihar offers meaningful opportunities for Swiss companies looking to expand their footprint in India. He added that the state’s development priorities and policy direction provide a constructive framework for engagement, and reiterated SICC’s role in facilitating structured dialogue between Swiss companies and the Government of Bihar to promote sustainable investment and employment creation.
