Study in Malaysia: A Gateway to World-Class Higher Education for Indian Students

CHENNAI, INDIA: Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), with the support of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai, successfully organised the MEGA Study in Malaysia Education Fair & Counsellor Workshop 2025 in conjunction with the Malaysia–India Higher Education Forum (MAHEF 2025–India) on 15 December 2025.

The largest Study in Malaysia education fair ever held in Chennai, the event witnessed an overwhelming response from Indian students and parents keen on exploring Malaysia as a preferred destination for higher education. The fair served as a vital platform for direct interaction between Malaysian universities and a wide spectrum of participants, including high school students, A-Level and IB candidates, undergraduate students, parents, teachers, counsellors, and education agents.

A total of 15 leading Malaysian higher education institutions participated, including Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM), Asia Pacific University of Innovation & Technology (APU), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Lincoln University College, MAHSA University, Manipal University College Malaysia, SEGi University, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), UCSI University, UNITAR Education Group, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM), University of Cyberjaya (UOC), and the University of Southampton Malaysia.

The MEGA fair aimed to strengthen Malaysia’s positioning as an emerging global education hub while offering Indian students personalised counselling and first-hand insights into academic programmes, career pathways, affordability, multicultural exposure, and globally recognised qualifications.

The event also highlighted Malaysia’s continued commitment to enhancing academic collaboration, talent development, and student mobility between Malaysia and India. Chennai remains one of Malaysia’s key student recruitment markets, and sustained engagement through such initiatives reinforces trust, visibility, and long-term educational partnerships.
