Chennai, December 19, 2025: Thiruvallur District-Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament Competition 2026 was successfully held at Mar Gregories College of Arts and Science, Mogappair West, on 19 December 2025. The event was organised by the college in association with the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, and the NSS Regional Directorate, Chennai.

The competition witnessed vibrant participation, with over 350 students attending the programme and more than 150 student representatives from various colleges across Thiruvallur district actively taking part in the parliamentary proceedings.

The programme began with blessings by Ms. Titty Elizabeth Philips, Director of Academics. The event was graced by eminent dignitaries including Dr. Stanly, Director, ICM, Ministry of Cooperation (Government of India – Retd.), Mr. K. Baskaran, District Judge / Judicial Member (Retd.), Dr. C. Samuel Chelliah, Regional Director, NSS, Tamil Nadu, and Dr. B. Anandan, NSS Coordinator, University of Madras.

The competition served as a meaningful platform for students to engage in democratic dialogue and parliamentary practices. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, marking the successful completion of the event.

Chennai, February 09, 2026: Building on the global momentum around World Cancer Day, Apollo Cancer Centre, Chennai and Apollo Proton Cancer Centre have launched the ‘ZERO TO HERO’ campaign to raise awareness about Stage Zero cancer detection and its critical role in improving survival and recovery outcomes. Cancer incidence in India continues to rise sharply, with over 15 lakh new cases reported in 2024, as per ICMR–NCRP data presented in Parliament. With one in nine Indians now facing a lifetime risk of cancer, the disease has emerged as a major public health challenge. Alarmingly, over 70% of cancers in India are diagnosed at advanced stages (III or IV), when treatment becomes more complex, outcomes are poorer, and the financial burden on families is significantly higher. Students’ Musical Extravaganza Celebrates Harmony and Heritage at Bala Vidya Mandir, Adyar

Jan 6, 2026, Chennai, Adyar: A grand students’ musical programme titled “Colours of the Rainbow” was held at Bala Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Adyar, Chennai. Founded in 1954, the institution proudly marks 75 years of excellence in education. Vijishkumar Garg, Patron of the Bala Brindavan School Group and Former Indian Army officer Now in its third consecutive year, the event showcased themes of religious harmony while highlighting India’s rich traditional music and dance heritage. More than 200 students participated, presenting performances using instruments such as guitar, flute, violin, mridangam, and vocal music, along with classical and folk dance forms including Bharatanatyam, folk dances, and Kavadi Attam.
