Chennai: The 2nd edition of Maruti Suzuki Arena Chennai Comic Con powered by Crunchyroll returned for a two-day extravaganza starting on 8th February. The event witnessed global and national artists along with cosplay enthusiasts and fans gathering at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. One of the major highlights of day one was a special book launched about the legacy of U.VE. Swaminatha Iyer - the saviour of Sangam literature, by Savio Mascarenhas; followed by special sessions on-stage with Brazilian artists Eduardo Ferigato and Marcelo Costa sharing about their journey on becoming comic book artists and more.

With exciting sessions from Crunchyroll to Maruti Suzuki, Alpha Comics and Amar Chitra Katha among others, the stage was set from the get go for the most exciting pop-culture weekend of the year. Furthermore, it was followed by the Chennai based local comedians Vivek Muralidharan and Vikram Arul Vidyapathi and an electrifying beatbox performance by the collective Desible who left every visitor in awe!

Experience zones were jam-packed with crowds flocking to the booths by Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World, DC Studios’ Superman, Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World Rebirth and DreamWorks Animation’s How To Train Your Dragon. The attendees experienced immersive gaming zones by Nodwin Gaming Arena such as the Valorant zone by Riot Games India, a PlayStation zone, Skull and Bones experience booth and more.

The Day two promises an even more exciting lineup including a special session with New York Times best-selling artist Kyle Higgins and celebrated illustrator Kelly McMahon. The stage performances expected are Hysterical Comedy Collaborative and Kannan Caricaturist followed by Ankush Jain with B-boy Crazy Bright, standup comedy acts by Pilot Gomma - Aircrash and Rohan Joshi and Sahil Shah.

Audiences can catch the action as Chennai’s finest cosplayers battle it out to represent the city at the Indian Championship of Cosplay 2025! Chennai Comic Con to conclude on February 9, 2025.
