Chennai, February 22, 2024: Good memories of formative years serve as a lighthouse to the future and a fort wall to withstand the realities of life. School reunions have always been exciting, filled with shared stories and nostalgia! Thirty years after they finished school and started their life's journey, around 85 middle-aged men got out and found their way back to the place it all started.
The 1995 batch from SBOA Matriculation school traveled from 19 different countries to their 30th anniversary reunion at Cebu, Philippines. It was a miracle how more than 20 hours of travel did not stop these young souls from braving their aging bodies or the overwhelming weight of their official responsibilities, to recreate the joy of standing up to the whistle of their much dreaded physical instructor, who was a special surprise invitee to the reunion party!!!

The banter of the good old days filled the air. Bench-mates, bike gangs, brave athletes, and bookworms all stood up in their T-shirts, which proudly bore their testimony” SBOA Chennai – Class of 1995 Reunion”. The streets of Cebu, Philippines were filled with happy faces from Chennai. Surgeons, doctors, engineers, businessmen, corporate honchos and software giants filled up the place, yet all had the same expression on their faces, expression of nostalgia, the joy of meeting up their buddies from a very different era of no mobile phones or social media!
A casual idea of catching up, a colossal search of lost friends, Hours of Air time with old memories, resonated all around the island state of Cebu in the Philipines. The boys relived their teens. Adventure and adrenaline rush filled the clear skies and canyons.
For 3 days, the men with grey hair, shiny heads, overgrown beards dipped themselves in the ocean, zip lines, island hopping and forest treks. The air was filled with that of laughter and bromance! The 1995 batch invited more than 60 retired teachers to the school premises on 22nd February 2025 to pay their respects to the teachers who shaped up their lives.
