15th edition of ACMEE 2023, India’s Premier International Machine Tools Show opens in Chennai

Chennai, 15th June 2023: The ACMEE ’23 - India’s premier international machine tools exhibition organized by the Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association (AIEMA) - was inaugurated at the Chennai Trade Centre. It will be held for five days, through to the 19th June. The exhibition focuses on the latest in machine tool technology to help industry modernize and promote investment in India.

ACMEE 2023 was inaugurated by Thiru R. N. Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu in the presence of Thiru Satyakam Arya, Managing Director & CEO, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd and Thiru Satish Sadasivan, Managing Director, Schunk Intec India Pvt. Ltd. In his welcome address, Thiru T. Nalangilli, President, AIEMA said that the Ambattur industrial estate ecosystem provides business to around 6,000 small and tiny business units located in and around the area and that AIEMA conducts on-the-job training and programmes on upskilling for people in the estate. 


Thiru R. N. Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu, said, ”We have the best infrastructure and a fairly good human resources. When you are expanding and innovating, you need to have appropriately skilled human resource, skilled in the latest technology; we have to maintain knowledge superiority.  While the Government will do what it must, you, too, have an important responsibility in guiding the Government or even taking your own initiatives to make this happen.”


“In the next 5 days, I am sure something good will come out for the future of industry and future of our country,” he added as he wished all those participating in ACMEE 2023 the very best.

Thiru Satyakam Arya, Managing Director & CEO, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd said,” The pandemic and geopolitical changes have tested our collective strength as industry, but the manufacturing rose to the occasion with commendable teamwork and innovations. Tamil Nadu is seen as a global manufacturing hub getting investments from around the world and it is primarily due to good industrial infrastructure and progressive policies of the Government. The three investments we need to make as a country are investments in R&D in technology, investments that focus on sustainability and investments in human capital as people are our greatest asset.”  

ACMEE 2023 focuses on the production technology relevant to MSME units. This exhibition will enable entrepreneurs to see the latest in machine tools and production technology from all over the world and help them move towards Smart Manufacturing, adopt smart solutions and contribute to the Make in India campaign.

In his address, Thiru Satish Sadasivan, Managing Director, Schunk Intec India Pvt. Ltd said, “Along with being competitive, we must also shift to being superior. It is easier to dislodge competitiveness than to dislodge superiority. We must, thus, imbibe this and invest into becoming superior as it is a sustainable model for growth. I strongly encourage all of us to take maximum advantage of the portfolio of events being offered by ACMEE 2023 under one roof, for the next five days.”

The theme for ACMEE 2023 is Smart Manufacturing and it will focus on the use of information technology in machinery to monitor production processes, automating manufacturing and the use of data analytics to improve manufacturing processes. There will also be live demonstrations, technical sessions and product launches.

In his address, Thiru K. Sai Sathya Kumar, Chairman, ACMEE 2023, said that ACMEE 2023 is the only big platform where the local industry can see the latest in manufacturing technology from all over the world and explore scope for upgradation of their manufacturing process. “The exhibition is of great relevance to engineers, management professionals, supervisors and all those engaged in manufacturing activity,” he added.  

The Governor released the Fair Directory, ACMEE ’23.  After the Vote of Thanks by Thiru P. S. Ramesh, Convenor, ACMEE 2023, the Governor spent time visiting the various exhibition halls and interacting with manufacturers.

Covering 11,000 square meters of net exhibition area, ACMEE 2023 is spread over the Convention Centre and seven halls and will see 435 companies from across the world participating in the exhibition. The exhibition will feature 105 international brands and with the participation from many countries in Europe, Asia and America, ACMEE 2023 expect to generate business worth around Rs. 650 crores.   

Finance Lounge
A unique feature this time is the Finance Lounge, where 9 major financial institutions are participating to help businesses obtain finance for their purchases at the event. They are Indian bank, South Indian Bank, ICICI Bank Ltd, SIDBI, Sundaram Finance Ltd, Siemens Finance Services, Electronica Finance Ltd and Ezlease Ventures Pvt Ltd.

ACMEE 2023 will also feature an International Buyers - Exhibitors Meet on 16th and 17th June ‘23. Being held under the auspices of EEPC India, and supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, the organizers are expecting 30 international buyers of engineering goods to participate. 

ACMEE 2023 will be open to Business Visitors between 10.00 AM and 6.30 PM on these dates.
