Chennai: Mar Gregorios College of Arts & Science Celebrated Cultural Fiesta 2023 with pomp and gaiety. The eve of Cultural Fiesta began on 21 February 2023 with two off-Stage events - Rangoli and Best Out of Waste; and 23 February 2023 witnessed two more off stage events- Mehandi and Solo- Singing. The On Stage events such as Solo Dance, Light Music and MIME were held on 24/02/23. All the students of four houses red, blue, green and yellow participated enthusiastically in all the events.

The grand finale of Cultural Fiesta began on 1st March 2023. Dr. Dhamu, Film Actor was a special invitee. He was welcomed by the students of NSS with Parai and Thappattam. Prof.Navukkarasi and DR. A. Ashmi were the masters of ceremony. The celebration began with a prayer song, followed by Tamilthai Vazhthu and College Anthem by the College Choir.
It was followed by lighting of Kuthuvilakku by the Guest of Honour, Dr. Dhamu; Secretary Rev.Fr. Mathew Pallikunnel; Principal Dr.M.Sivarajan; IQAC Co-ordinator, Prof.S.Shanta; Vice-Principal of Shift-I, Dr. G. Gayathry and Vice-Principal of Shift-II, Dr. S. Shalini Maher; Cultural Convenors Prof. N. Vaishali of Shift-I and Prof.K. Subhashini of Shift-II and the Cultural Coordinators Ms. M. Nandhini of III Bsc cs of Shift –I and Ms. A. Tharani of III Bcom (cs). Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. M. Nandhini. Rev. Fr. Mathew Pallikunnel blessed the gathering with his inspiring speech.
The Guest of Honour was felicitated and honoured by the Secretary and the Principal with a shawl and a memento. Dr. V. Iyappan, Assistant Professor in Tamil, Shift-I introduced the Chief Guest; followed by Chief Guest’s address to the gathering. He addressed the students via his artistic performance (mimicry). In his address, he said that “father is the real hero in one’s life” and he highlighted the significant role of Parents and teachers in the life of a student. Further, he discussed the importance of education by appreciating the Engineers who are behind every technical work in the film industry and created ‘Awareness on Drugs’ and sensitized students on ‘the advantages of wearing helmet’. Above all, he felicitated the teachers on Stage for their dedication and hard work. He was really happy to see the Culturals being celebrated in such a grand manner. He successfully reached every student via his advice-claded ebullient speech. Off course, he made the day.
Ms. M. Nandhini of III Bsc (cs), Ms. R. Sharmila of II Bcom (A&F), Ms. A. Tharani of III Bcom (cs) and Ms. J. Kokila of I Bsc (cs) were the masters of ceremony for the successive events. The on-stage Group Dance began with the Welcome Dance of K. Kaviya of III Bcom (cs) ‘A ‘ Section; followed by the Group Dance by Boys of Shift-I and Shift-II and Group Dance by Girls of shift-I and Shift-II. It was followed by Host Performance by Girls and MGC Dazzlers. The On-stage events were concluded by MGC Sizzlers with their soothing Light Music. Finally, the Prize-winners were announced and the over-all championship was bagged by Yellow House in both the Shifts. The Cultural Fiesta was concluded with Prize Distribution by the Secretary Father and the Principal; followed by Vote of Thanks and National Anthem.
