1st Senior Wrestling National Championship for Men & Women from 29-30th August 2021 at Mahabalipuram
Chennai, August 19, 2021: Beach Wrestling India under the aegis of Wrestling Federation of India has proposed to conduct the 1st SENIOR BEACH WRESTLING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP for Men & Women at Mahabalipuram from 29th & 30th of August 2021 in Beach Resort Complex of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. All the affiliated member states unit of WFI also Indian Railways and Services Sports Control Board will also be participating with their outstanding, international players, which is taking place for the 1st time in India.

The BEACH WRESTLING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP is happening because of the dedicated leadership as well as positive vision of developing this FORMAT OF WRESTLING in our country by SH.BRIJBHUSHAN SHARAN SINGH JI M.P. LOK SABHA - HONY. PRESIDENT WRESTLING FEDERATION OF INDIA. He has bestowed the honor of hosting the 1st Ever Beach Wrestling National Championship Men & Women to Beach Wrestling India - a unit of WFl headed by Dr. Rohtash Singh Nandal as Chairman, Dr. Joginder Singh Dalal and Mr. Sandeep Mehlawat as Vice Chairmen.
Dr. Rohtash Singh Nandal Chairman - Beach Wrestling said that the first Senior Beach National Championship will be held in men's and women's categories. In order to mark the 75th anniversary of the country's independence, the championship will be held at the Beach Resort Complex TTDC Government of Tamil Nadu from 29th to 30th August 2021. Teams from all state's unit of WFI will be participating. In this game, players will be weighing 4 weight category as per the UWW (United World Wrestling) international standards in men's category 70,80,90, +90 kg and 50,60,70,+70 kg in women's category. The current Olympic medal winners Mr. Ravi Kumar Dahiya - Silver Medal, Mr.Bajrang Punia - Bronze Medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, will also be there in this national.
The Chief Guest for the opening ceremony on 29th August will be by SH. BRIJBHUSHAN SHARAN SINGH JI M.P. LOK SABHA-HONY. PRESIDENT WRESTLING FEDERATION OF INDIA. PADAM SHRI V.BHASKARAN - OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST IN HOCKEY AND SH.RAVIKUMAR KORIKANA will be Guest of Honor. The Chief Guest For the Closing ceremony on 30th August will be THIRU. K. GANAPATHY, M.L.A. D.M.K AND TMT. K. SARAMMA - ARJUNA AWARDIEE IN ATHELETICS, V. DEVARAJAN - OLYMPIAN ARJUNA AWARDEE IN BOXING, SPORTS OFFICERS IN SOUTHERN RAILWAYS will be Guest of Honor.
A meeting was held for this Championship under the Chairmanship of Dr. Rohtash Singh Nandal, in which Dr. Joginder Singh Dalal - Vice.Chairman, Sandeep Mehlawat - Vice Chairman, Dharamvit Sharma, Suresh Attri, B.S. Saini, Harbir Kaur, Om Sherawat, Bijendra Lohan, Ajaypal Nandal, Omprakash Nandal, Sandeep, Praveen Kumar, SJ.Padmaraj, Shivjeet Singh Nandal, Ravi Shankar, Jagat Narayan, etc., were present to note all the situations. All are working together to create a good platform for the players of this format and make a memorable championship.
