National level technical symposium, KRATORQ2019 at SRMIST Campus


The most awaited National level technical symposium, KRATORQ2019, was conducted on 20th September 2019 by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRMIST, Vadapalani campus. The department has taken the meticulous initiatives to encourage the students to acquire knowledge in science and technology and also familiar with current trends happening in industry. This symposium served as a platform for students to showcase their talents and their interests towards various technologies.

The Inaugural function of  KRATORQ’19 was privileged by the presence of  the guests Mr. M. SATYANANDAN,  General  Manager, Product Development - Engines, Ashok Leyland., Chennai and Prof. S. Sekar, Foundry engineering consultant. The inaugural function was presided by Dr.K. Duraivelu, Dean (E&T) and Dr.S.Karthikeyan , Professor and Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, proposed the welcome address. Mr. P.R. Manikandan, GM-HR, SRM IST has proposed his felicitation address to all the participants.

Chief Guest Mr.M. SATYANANDAN delivered his address on the essential skills the present day engineering students should develop and very much highlighted the importance of attitude above all skills to be a successful professional. He cited his own case of journey from a fresher to the present level of his career in order to inspire the students.

The souvenir on KRATORQ’19 was released by the dignitaries. The inaugural function was concluded by vote of thanks  proposed by Mr. A. Sengolerayan, Assistant Professor.

Students from various Engineering colleges across India have participated in large numbers and took part in various technical and non technical events like Robo war, RC racing, Paper presentation, CAD Modeling, Lathe Master, Wild welder, wood pecker, HR Skills and so on.

The valedictory function was organized in the evening. Prizes worth Rs. 1 Lakh were distributed to the winners of various events. All the participant were given participant certificate to motivate them. The program ended with national anthem.ЁЯТв
