Thiru MK.STALIN Inaugurated DR AGARWAL’S EYE HOSPITAL’S New, Bigger Office at TTK Road, Chennai

  • The new location, spread over 30,000 sq. ft. and among the biggest in Chennai.

CHENNAI / June 24, 2019: Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, among the best-known destinations in Chennai for comprehensive and advanced eyecare since the last 60 years, has moved to a new and bigger location on TTK road, Alwarpet. 

The state-of-the-art facility, among the biggest in the city spread across 30,000 sq. ft., was inaugurated by Thiru MK Stalin, Leader, DMK in the presence of Prof. Amar Agarwal, Chairman, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital Ltd. and Dr. Athiya Agarwal, Director, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital Ltd. The expanded facility will offer comprehensive eyecare services and is equipped with latest equipment to conduct advanced and complex eye surgeries. More than 500 people pledged to donate their eyes on the occasion.

Said Thiru MK Stalin, Leader, DMK: “Over the decades, Tamil Nadu has carved a name for itself in the field of medical tourism, particularly in the field of ophthalmology. Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital has become a popular choice for treatment related to eyes not only in Chennai but across the country. I still recall former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr. Kalaignar’s close association with Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital chain, its founder Dr. Jaiveer Agarwal, and his son Dr. Amar Agarwal. Dr. Kalaignar had inaugurated the earlier premises of the hospital and he usually used to get his regular eye check-ups done at the facility. I am sure that this new facility will set new standards in eye care and benefit the people of not only Chennai but other states too.”

Started as a small eyecare centre by Padma Bhushan recipient Dr. Jaiveer Agarwal in 1957, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital has today grown to more than 61 centres in India and 17 centres overseas. Dr. Agarwal’s Healthcare Ltd. (DAHCL) recently raised Rs. 270 crore investment from Temasek, a global investment company headquartered in Singapore, to be used to expand its geographical footprint in India.
