Chennai Gears Up for Its Biggest Night Running Event – Mindspace REIT Chennai Night Run 2026!

Chennai is set to light up the night with the inaugural Mindspace REIT Chennai Night Run 2026, powered by SIMS Hospital, on October 17. Organised by SportzPro in association with the Tamil Nadu Athletic Association (TNAA) and supported by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), the event expects over 4,000 participants.

The event details, T-shirts, medals and cash prizes were unveiled at a prelude meet at Taj Club House, Chennai. Promoting fitness, inclusivity and women’s safety, the run aims to encourage safer public spaces and collective responsibility. 

Ramesh Nair, MD and CEO of Mindspace REIT, highlighted the importance of extending workplace wellbeing and fitness into the wider community. Smt. C. Latha, Chairman of the TNAA Planning & Execution Committee, emphasised the event’s role in encouraging athletics and mass participation. Dr. Raju Sivaswamy, Vice President of SIMS Hospitals, stressed that women’s safety also includes health, wellbeing, breast cancer awareness and preventive care. SportzPro Managing Partners MRK Jhayaram and Sabari Nair said the initiative aims to create a celebration of Chennai’s sporting spirit and healthier lifestyles. 

Participants can choose between a professionally timed 10K Run and a 4K Family Run, supported by certified timing, hydration points, medical assistance, route safety, entertainment and post-run celebrations. 

The fastest male and female runners will each receive ₹1 lakh, while first and second runners-up will receive ₹75,000 and ₹50,000 respectively, with additional prizes for veteran and super-veteran categories.
