Global Connector & Terminal Manufacturer K.S. Terminals Inc Expands Asia Pacific footprint with New Manufacturing Facility in Chennai

Chennai, May 15, 2026: K.S. Terminals Inc.⁠� (KST), a Taiwan-headquartered global manufacturer of electrical terminals, connectors and interconnect solutions, has announced the establishment of its new manufacturing facility in Tiruvallur near Chennai, marking the company’s strategic entry into the Indian market.

The new facility was opened by.Joe Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of K S Terminals, and M Prathap, IAS, District Collector of Tiruvallur in the presence of senior Executives from the company and Tamilnadu Government. The new facility, spread across 36,664 sq. ft. at Ulunthai Village in Kadambathur Union, Tiruvallur district, has been set up to cater to the growing demand from India’s automotive, electric vehicle (EV), renewable energy and industrial sectors.

KST said the Chennai unit will manufacture a wide range of products including automotive connectors, EV charging connectors, battery modular connectors (BMC), insulated and non-insulated terminals, cord end terminals and related electrical connectivity solutions designed for global OEMs and industrial buyers.

M Prathap, IAS, District Collector of Tiruvallur thanked the Company for setting up their new factory in Tiruvallur and spoke on the advantages of Road, Railway and Sea route connectivity of Tiruvallur for their business expansion plans.

Speaking on the expansion, Joe Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of KST, said India represented a natural next step in the company’s global growth strategy. He noted that after successfully operationalising its Thailand plant, the company was now bringing similar operational discipline and quality standards to its Chennai facility to support Indian manufacturers across automotive, renewable energy and industrial segments.

Founded in 1973 as Ken Shing Industrial Shop by the Cheng family in Taiwan, KST has evolved into a publicly listed global manufacturer over the past five decades. The company was renamed K.S. Terminals Inc. in 1978 and got listed on the Taiwan Stock Market in 2002.

Apart from its facilities in Taiwan and China, KST also operates a manufacturing unit in Thailand. The Chennai facility further strengthens its Asia-Pacific manufacturing network and is expected to improve localized support and reduce lead times for Indian customers.

The Tiruvallur plant will support industries such as automotive manufacturing, EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy, agricultural machinery, industrial manufacturing and wire harnessing, sectors witnessing rapid growth under India’s “Make in India” initiative.

Company officials said the expansion reflects KST’s long-term commitment to India as a key manufacturing and sourcing destination in the global electrical connectivity market.
