'Athiradi' Pre-Release Event Held in Grand Style; Cricketer Sanju Samson Attends as Chief Guest

Chennai, May 17, 2026: The pre-release event of upcoming action entertainer Athiradi was held in a grand manner with the presence of the film’s cast, crew and several distinguished guests from the film fraternity and sports world. The event created huge excitement among cinema fans ahead of the movie’s theatrical release on May 22 in Tamil Nadu.

The film stars Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, Zarin Shihab and Riya Shibu in prominent roles. The movie is written and directed by Arun Anirudhan and jointly produced by Dr. Ananthu S and Basil Joseph.

The highlight of the event was the presence of Indian cricketer Sanju Samson, who attended the event as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he extended his best wishes to the entire Athiradi team and appreciated the growing collaboration between Malayalam and Tamil cinema industries.

Speaking at the event, Basil Joseph expressed confidence that Athiradi would entertain audiences with its action-packed narrative and emotional moments. Director Arun Anirudhan said the film has been crafted as a complete commercial entertainer with strong performances and engaging storytelling.

Tamil Nadu theatrical release of the film will be handled by Five Star Creation headed by K. Senthil, who said the movie is expected to attract audiences across centres owing to the popularity of its cast and content.

The pre-release event concluded with the unveiling of promotional materials and interactions with fans and media, building strong anticipation for the film’s upcoming release.
